LOGO - CONCEPT
Here are some of my favorite concepts and styleframes I pitched for the logo of Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis.
I had a lot of fun trying to combine the legend of Elvis and unique flare of Baz into a worthy logo.
The first concept here was a study on Elvis’ iconic outfits. I tried to bring together all the flares, belts and bejeweled decoration that he wore throughout his career into one extravagant logo. The main inspiration was his American Eagle jumpsuit worn during his 1973 special “Aloha from Hawaii”. There are a few scattered details throughout, including the TCB logo and musical notes along some bars which reference the design on the gates at Graceland.
The second concept was a take on the iconic Elvis stage lights from his “68 Comeback Special”.
I’ve never felt more like a digital jeweler and electrician at the same time.
